As part of the Ethics and Religious Cultures course at the Burier gymnasium, a large group of students, led by Valérie Clément, visited Saint Barbara’s church on 11 March 2024.
These young students took part in a presentation on Orthodoxy and the history of the church in the context of the canton of Vaud, the Swiss Confederation and Europe in the 19th century. It was a good opportunity for them to find out more about parish life, past and present, as well as the major historical monument that is the church of Sainte-Barbara in Vevey. The visit also gave them an insight into the extensive restoration and refurbishment work undertaken since 2017.
